Credit Searches

We will make searches about you at credit reference agencies who will supply us with credit information, as well as information from the Electoral Register. The agencies will record details of the search whether or not this application proceeds. Credit searches and other information which is provided to us and/or the credit reference agencies, about you and those with whom you are linked with financially may be used by Adam & Sons Finance Ltd and other companies if credit decisions are made about you. This information may be used for debt tracing and the prevention of money laundering as well as the management of your account. By applying to us for finance you are giving your consent to the above.

Fair Processing Notice

If false or inaccurate information is provided and fraud identified, details will be passed to the fraud prevention agencies. Law enforcement agencies may access and use this information. We and other organisations may also access and use this information to prevent fraud and money laundering, for example, when:

• Checking details on applications for credit and credit related or other facilities
• Managing credit and credit related accounts or facilities
• Recovering debt
• Checking details on proposals and claims for all types of insurance
• Checking details of job applicants and employees

Data Protection Act

Under the Data Protection Act 1998, you have a right to access certain personal records we, credit reference agencies and fraud prevention agencies hold about you. This is called a ‘subject access request’, which you can make by writing to Adam & Sons Finance Ltd. A fee may be payable, but we will not charge you until we have told you how much the fee is and what it is for, and you have told us that you wish to proceed.
